SHOUT OUT Well done to Luvina W (Diamond), Ada-Rose L (Moonstone) and Aria L (Sapphire) who competed in EDC dance competition last weekend. They won 1st place getting gold medals in cheerleading. A huge well done!

Sky Studios Trip On Tuesday, the 10th of February 21 very excited children met myself and Mrs Ballard at Staplehurst station to travel to Osterley to visit Sky TV Studios. We were very lucky with the weather as we were able to have a stop under the London Eye looking over the Houses of Parliament and the children thoroughly enjoyed the playground. The children made a news report about online safety in four different groups. They were in four different studios with different roles such as director, producer, camera operator, reporter, eyewitness and experts. The children worked fantastically well in their teams to produce their section of the news report. We also got a tour of the studios and saw sky sports news being delivered live. The children were impeccably behaved and a credit to the school. Watch this space to see our news report very soon. Thank you to the to the parents that assisted us on the trip it was a great experience had by all.

Fundraising by Freddie for Ellenor Hospice Freddie from Year 2 needs help raising as much money as possible for a charity called Ellenor, a local charity helping people and their families with life limiting illnesses. To be in for a chance to win this big teddy and raise money at the same time, all you need to do is donate a minimum of £2 and submit your best name for the bear with your contact details and the winning name will be announced on the 27th Feb. You can enter via this link https://www.justgiving.com/page/wards-trb-ellenor-2026 Freddie and the bear will also be collecting entries and donations on the 25th February on the KS1 playground at the end of the day and again on the 26th February in the KS2 Quiet Area by the swimming pool so make sure you bring £2 into school or you will be able to scan a QR code & pay that way. Thank you so much to Mr North and the school for supporting Freddie with this - he is very excited to see how much he can raise!

World Book Day 5th March 2026 On Thursday 5th March, Loose Primary will be taking part in World Book Day 2026. We are already in the process of planning some exciting activities for the day and more details will follow after half term but we wanted to give you as much notice as possible for one of our most exciting elements to the day – our Book Day dress up. We will once again be inviting the children to dress up as a character from a book. We hope that this will continue to promote a love of reading within our pupils as well as inspire some wonderful discussions about books throughout the day. This does not need to be overly complicated or expensive; there are plenty of book characters that involve clothing that you may already have at home. The internet is full of ideas for home-made World Book Day costume ideas if you are in need of any inspiration. If possible, we would like the children to bring in the book that they are dressed as a character from. Classes will spend some time within the day talking about these books. To celebrate our chosen book characters further, we will be organising a parade through the playground to show off our costumes where a winner will be selected from each year group for the most imaginative and creative design. To celebrate World Book Day, we will be holding a book fair in Orchard Hall from Monday 2nd – Thursday 5th March. Children will take home a book token that can be exchanged to receive £1 off any book at our book fair. Don't forget that every book you buy, helps to get free books for our school! Loose Primary School proudly took part in NSPCC Number Day, enjoying a fun-filled day of maths and learning for a great cause. Pupils across the school got involved in a range of number-based activities in their classrooms, dressed up as digits and numbers, and worked together on an exciting number treasure hunt. There was lots of excitement, laughter and creativity throughout the day, and it was wonderful to see how much fun everyone had while learning. Pupils also learnt about the important work of the NSPCC and how the charity helps to keep children safe. As part of the celebrations, we also took part in the national TTRockstar competition. Out of 4,011 schools, Loose Primary finished an impressive 147th for total answers a top 4% finish nationwide. A fantastic collective effort from everyone involved! In terms of classes, Sunstone smashed the competition, securing top spot within our school and ranking 426th best class in the country out of 23,238 classes placing them in the top 2% nationally. An outstanding achievement! Thank you to all parents and carers for your generous donations and support to help make the day such a success. We raised a total of £693.00 for the NSPCC which is amazing thank you! Mr Bedford-Cooper

F1 Williams Trip What happens when engineering brilliance meets teamwork and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity? You get an unforgettable day at the Williams Racing Garage in Grove! Our F1 competition winners swapped the classroom for the fast lane, diving into a world of cutting-edge STEM, rich Formula 1 history and even taking on the thrill of the F1 simulators (future drivers in the making, perhaps?!). With Loose generously offered these exclusive spaces by Williams Racing, we were determined to extend the opportunity across the Coppice Trust because this is what being part of a Trust is all about: opening doors wider, together. Children from across our schools collaborated like real engineers designing, building and crash-testing their very own race car nose cones before analysing the results. The challenge demanded problem-solving, teamwork, scientific thinking and creativity proving that what we teach every day in our curriculum has real- world horsepower! The behaviour? Outstanding. The engagement? Electric. The experience? Truly unforgettable. Well done, Team Coppice the future of engineering is looking very bright indeed!
